Mr. Eduard Hochreiter is a Senior Research Associate at The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies.
He teaches at the University of Innsbruck.
His research interests focus on European (Monetary) integration, monetary and exchange rate policy issues, and transition economies.
Mr. Hochreiter worked for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and served as director of the Joint Vienna Institute (2006-2012), for the Oesterreichische Nationalbank in several economics positions (1975-2006) and was an associate professor in economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration (2001 -2008).
He also served as an alternate member of the Economic and Finance Committee of the EU (EFC; 2001-2006).
Mr. Hochreiter holds degrees in economics (London School of Economics (1974)), University of Economics Vienna (1982), and in international relations (Johns Hopkins University, Bologna Center, 1975).
