Mr. Mertens became a Financial Advisor in September, 2003, after five years in the financial services industry – including nearly three years with Baird’s Investment Consulting Services department.
His areas of expertise include investment consulting, managed money, asset allocation and portfolio analysis.
His investment philosophy involves working in partnership with his clients to establish a long-term, disciplined investment strategy that balances risk and return through a combination of growth and income investments.
Jim received his Bachelors of Business Administration from Notre Dame in 1998, with a concentration in finance, and is pursuing his MBA at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
He is also a Level II candidate in the CFA program.
A Wauwatosa resident since 2001, he is a member of St. Jude’s Parish and of the Notre Dame Club of Milwaukee.
