Joseph D'Anna

Dr. D'Anna joined Good Hill Partners from Rabobank, where he was Managing Director, Head of Equity Derivatives Structuring for the Americas.
During his career as a quantitative finance professional, Dr. D'Anna has proven himself a thought-leader and innovative problem-solver.
Prior to Rabobank, he was Senior Financial Engineer at Société Générale CIB developing equity and hedge fund-linked transactions for institutional clients.
He co-established and served as CIO of the SG subsidiary Catalyst Re to deliver hedges he designed for portfolios exposed to hybrid market risks.
Catalyst Re’s first transaction transferred risk on $7.5 billion of variable annuities for MetLife.
He joined SG via the acquisition of Constellation Financial Management where, as Managing Director, he designed and executed more than $1 billion in ABS deals linked to mutual fund fees and helped raise more than $2 billion in revolving bank financing.
His finance career began at Bank of America, where he validated models for exotics and served on a committee that set bank-wide risk and valuation standards.
Dr. D’Anna earned a Ph.D.
in physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was a research associate at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics.
He holds B.S.
degrees in mathematics and physics from the University of Redlands, is a CFA charterholder, and a published author of original research in both mathematical physics and quantitative finance.
