She joined the Knight Foundation in 1994.
Presently residing in Charlotte, NC, Crane was born in Miami, FL and has traveled widely.
She has lived in Belgium and Japan.
She has been involved in a variety of community activities including service with Junior Leagues in Miami, Phoenix, Racine, WI and Charlotte, NC.
She remains a sustaining member of the Junior League.
Ms. Crane is a member of the Opera Guild of Charlotte, and serves as advisor to the Crown Society of Carolinas Concert Association.
She was past president of RibbonWalk Conservancy, Inc., Charlotte’s 192-acre urban forest (a property now under the auspices of the land owner, Mecklenburg Park and Recreation Department).
She is involved with several wildlife and conservation organizations
