Before entering the financial services industry, he worked as a commodity buyer in the World Wide Purchasing Division of General Motors.
In 1997 he took on the role of Head of Research at Taylor Collison Stockbroking, based in Adelaide.
He then moved to Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (since acquired by Blackrock).
Initially in the role of Fund Manager, he then took on the responsibility of Director and Senior Portfolio Manager in 2003.
Mr. Ryland Graduated Diploma in Applied Economics, Honours degree in Engineering and he is a CFA Charterholder.
