Peter K. Merrill

Mr. Merrill has 21 years of investment experience in high yield, bank loans and distressed debt.
Prior to joining KDP in June 2001, he was at CypressTree Investment Management from 1997 to April 2001 where he managed/co-managed $2.5 billion in bank loans in retail funds, CLOs and institutional accounts.
Prior to CypressTree, Mr. Merrill was at BankBoston for ten years.
He was a managing director of BankBoston Securities from 1996, responsible for distressed debt analysis for the firm’s proprietary high yield trading book.
From 1994 he was a portfolio manager in BankBoston Investments where he managed a $150MM high yield investment program.
From 1992 to 1994, Mr. Merrill was a managing director in the leveraged finance group of BankBoston where he played a key role in setting investment strategy and introducing portfolio management and relative value techniques for leveraged bank loans.
He also managed investments in LBO funds, CDO/CLOs and high yield bridge loan funds.
From 1988 to 1992, he was in the loan workout group where he managed a $1 billion portfolio of commercial and industrial problem loans.
Mr. Merrill was at European American Bank from 1984 to 1988 where he managed a diverse portfolio of foreign and domestic distressed loans.
He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Loan Syndication and Trading Association (LSTA) and holds a B.A., cum laude, from Middlebury College.
