He served on the Executive Committee of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and served as Chairman of the House of Delegates from 1995 to 1996.
Currently, Dr. Ahlbrandt is Vice Chairman of the United Nations Committee.
He received a BA and a PhD in Geology from the University of Wyoming.
