Vijay Tohani

Mr. Vijay Tohani is Chief Investment Officer at Samsung Investment Management (Singapore) Pte Ltd.
Prior to joining Samsung Investment Management , Mr. Tohani was a Senior Portfolio Manager with First State Investments’ Asia Pacific (ex-Japan)/Global Emerging Markets team, having joined the company as a Senior Analyst in April 2000.
There he initially covered China and South East Asia until the end of 2000.
He then focused on Emerging Asia, in particular Korea and the Indian Sub-continent.
In 2003 he took on portfolio manager responsibilities.
Mr. Tohani began his career with Ernst & Young where he worked in the audit department specializing in banking and financial services companies from the period 1991-1994.
His investment career started first on the sell-side, as an Asian Equity Sales specialist for stockbrokers Worldsec International Ltd from 1996-1997 and then on the buy-side, as an Investment Analyst with John Hancock Advisers International Ltd from 1997-1999.
Mr. Tohani is a graduate of the London School of Economics, with an MSc International Finance.
He also holds a Bachelor of Arts with honours in Accounting with Computing from the University of Ulster.
He is a CFA charterholder and an Associate member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals.
