Principal Asset Management Bhd. (Principal) is an independent, Malaysian investment management firm headquartered in Kuala Lumpur with additional offices in Singapore and Jakarta. Formerly known as CIMB-Principal Asset Management Bhd., the firm was founded in 1994 as a joint venture between CIMB Group Sdn Bhd and US-based Principal Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: PFG), the former being the majority shareholder. Principal manages a range of unit trust funds as well as discretionary portfolios for corporations, institutions, governments and pension funds.

ING Funds Bhd. (IFB) is the fund management subsidiary of Kenanga Investors Bhd., ultimately held by K & N Kenanga Holdings Bhd. (KL: 6483) in Malaysia. Established in 2004, IFB is a majority-owned subsidiary of IFB Management Holdings Sdn. Bhd., which in turn is a majority-owned subsidiary of ING Management Holdings (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd and ultimately of Amsterdam-based ING Groep NV (XA: INGA; NYSE: ING). The firm is based in Kuala Lumpur, with regional offices in Selangor, Penang and Kuching from which they manages a range of mutual funds domiciled in Malaysia for institutional clients and private investors.
