In her past career Dr. Huang was President at American Association for the Advancement of Science, Dean & Professor-Biology at New York University, Director-Infectious Disease Laboratory at The Children's Hospital Corp. and Professor-Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at Harvard Medical School.

She received an undergraduate degree, a graduate degree and a doctorate from The Johns Hopkins University.
