Oman Trading Establishment LLC engages in the distribution of cars and heavy commercial vehicles. Its business groups include automotive, in-house financing, vehicle leasing and rental, used cars, electronics, digital, hisense, manufacturing, and manpower training. The company was founded by Saad Suhail Bahwan in 1991 and is headquartered in Wadi Kabir, Oman.

COSMOTE begins its commercial operations five years after its competitors and radically changes the status of mobile telecommunications in Greece. It is the only company of its sector in the world, which entered the market third and yet managed to become number one in only 3.5 years. It took only 3 years for COSMOTE, April 1998 to June 2001, to become the leading operator in the Greek market. This impressive achievement is compounded by the fact that it is the only 3rd entrant to achieve 1st place in its market. Currently it has more than 4.6 million customers in Greece with the leading market position and also has presence in 4 other Balkan countries: in Albania (AMC), in Bulgaria (GLOBUL), in FYROM (COSMOFON), and in Romania (COSMOTE Romania). The Company in 2005 generated approximately 1.8 billion euro in revenues and 340 million euro in net profit. Both the Company's EBITDA margin (approx. 42%) and net profit margin (approx. 19%) remain consistently among the highest in Europe. In addition, COSMOTE has expanded its operations in B2B and B2C services through its participation in CosmoONE and COSMO-MEGALA KATASTIMATA respectively.
