Prior to that Mr. Whalen worked for nine years at NCNB, first in the Funds Management Division and later in the Investment Banking Division.
Mr. Whalen is a graduate of Brown University where he received a BA in Biology and Psychology.
He was named a Faculty Fellow and received his MBA from Duke University.

Eileen Whalen served as the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Harborview Medical Center from 2008 to 2014.
She also served as the President of The University of Vermont Medical Center.
