(NYSE: LM) in the US. Created in 2006 from the former Citigroup Asset Management, the firm is a global emerging markets specialist. The firm is the Hong Kong office of Legg Mason International Equities, which is part of the institutional division of the parent group, and is headquartered in London. Other offices are located in New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Melbourne, Sao Paulo and Warsaw. LMIE was formerly known as Citibank Global Asset Management (Asia) Ltd. and has been managing collective investment schemes and discretionary funds in Hong Kong since 1985. The firm is a specialist investment manager of regional sub-funds for the parent group. They are also the local distributor of the parent company's diverse families of funds (Legg Mason, Royce, Western Asset). Their clients are institutions and private individuals.

Congruix Investment Management, formerly known as Legg Mason International Equities (Singapore), is the investment management division within Legg Mason International Equities (Singapore) Pte Ltd. which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Baltimore-based financial services holding company Legg Mason, Inc. (NYSE: LM). Congruix originated as Legg Mason Asset Management Asia and has been managing collective investment schemes in Singapore since 1995. Through a series of joint ventures and acquisitions, the firm has integrated Singaporean investment arms of Western Asset, Batterymarch and Rothschild Asset Management. Congruix manages and sub-advises Asia Pacific equities and mandates on behalf of institutions and retail investors, either as separate accounts or through unit trusts. Their fellow division Legg Mason Investments distributes Legg Mason's Singapore-domiciled unit trusts and Legg Mason's Luxembourg- and Dublin-domiciled mutual fund ranges.
