Mr. Carter is the Chairman and CEO of Hyperion Capital Management, Inc. and the President and founding principal of Andrew M.
Carter & Company, which manages high quality fixed income portfolios for substantial institutions.
He is also the Vice-Chairman and partner of The China Business Group, which helps enterprises enter or expand in mainland China.
He began his career by serving as manager of Harvard University's $500 million bond portfolio in 1964.
While serving at Wellington Management Company (1968-1972), he was the Ford Foundation's first outside investment manager.
As a partner at Carter Doyle & Co. (1972-1975), he suggested the design of the first Wall Street bond index, known as the Salomon Index.
In 1975, he joined his firm with Jennison Associates, and grew the bond group to more than $10 billion in assets.
He is a graduate of Harvard College.
