Dempsey is a Director of Active Media Services, Inc. Previously, he was President of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
Prior to joining the NCAA, he was Director of Athletics for the University of Arizona, the University of Houston, San Diego State University and the University of the Pacific.
Dr. Dempsey received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College in 1954 and a Master's degree in Education from Albion in 1956 and a PhD from the University of Illinois in 1963 and a Doctorate of Laws from Albion College in 1995.
