Mr. Charlie R.
Manzoni, Jr., is General Counsel at Nuveen Asset Management LLC since 2011.
Prior to joining Nuveen Asset Management, Mr. Manzoni was with US Bancorp Asset Management (which was acquired by Nuveen) since 2004.
He began working in the financial industry in 1975 and in addition to more than 20 years of experience in private practice at Gardner, Carton & Douglas, he served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Zurich Kemper Investment, where he managed a legal staff and was responsible for oversight of a variety of legal functions, including acquisitions, regulatory compliance, litigation, contract negotiations, and employee benefits.
In private practice, Mr. Manzoni represented clients in corporate finance and M&A transactions and counseled financial service clients regarding regulatory compliance.
He began his legal career with the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Manzoni received a B.A.
and J.D.
from the University of Santa Clara and has served as an adjunct professor in the Financial Services Law Program sponsored by ITT Chicago-Kent College of Law.
