Chris Archer

Chris Archer is Co-Head of EMEA for Green Investment Group (GIG), a role he assumed in July 2022.
He joined Macquarie in 2007 working across advisory and investment in public-private partnerships (PPP), renewable energy projects, and infrastructure M&A as part of Macquarie Capital’s London-based infrastructure team.
Following Macquarie’s acquisition of the Green Investment Bank from the UK Government in 2017, Chris led the integration of the business and served as GIG’s deputy head in EMEA before relocating to New York to launch the GIG in the Americas in 2018.
Under Chris’ leadership, the team invested into and built platforms in solar and distributed energy which are developing more than 15 gigawatts of projects across the region.
They also closed GIG’s first investments in both the US and Brazil.
In addition to his role as co-head of EMEA, he leads GIG’s investment strategy for new and emerging energy transition technologies globally.
Chris is based in Paris and has a Masters in Civil Engineering from Imperial College in addition to a Masters in Finance from INSEAD.
