Profilo
Chamberlain, 51, spent 15 years with IBM, eventually overseeing the expansion of its West Coast professional services organization.
He later joined Gateway Corp., where he grew enterprise division revenue from $800 million to more than $2.1 billion over 22 months.
"We basically had to build the enterprise division from the ground up," he said.
Chamberlain was similarly successful at Packard Bell, which had suffered dramatic market share losses after being purchased by NEC Computers International.
His team was given one year to reduce losses from $600 million a year to $100 million.
After a year, losses equaled $110 million.
At Novell Inc., Chamberlain headed the eastern operations of sales, and net profitability rose 20 percent under his guidance.
When he became CEO of WebPutty Inc. in San Jose, sales quadrupled in 18 months.
