Mr. Ferris joined Mawer in 1986.
He is manager of the Canadian Balanced Retirement Savings Fund, the Canadian Diversified Investment Fund and the Canadian Balanced Institutional Pooled Fund.
Previously, he was a Portfolio Manager at Bolton Tremblay Inc. from 1983 to 1986.
In 1980, Mr. Ferris joined the Montreal Trust Company as an Investment Officer.
Prior to joining Montreal Trust in 1980, he served as an Economist with the Government of Alberta, which he joined in 1977.
Mr. Ferris earned an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder with 26 years of investment experience.
His primary function as part of the investment management team is to determine asset allocation strategies.
Mr. Ferris manages portfolios for individuals, and employee retirement plans.
Mr. Ferris is a Director of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada and a member of the Finance and Audit Committees.
He served as President of the Calgary Society of Financial Analysts, Treasurer of the Canadian Pension and Benefits Conference - Alberta Region, and chaired the Finance Committee as a Director of the Calgary Winter Club.
Mr. Ferris has appeared as a commentator on CBC NewsWorld and has been featured in the Globe & Mail Report on Business.
