Graeme John Smethurst

Dr. Graeme J.
Smethurst is a Director of European Healthcare Investment Banking at Piper Sandler Ltd.
He is focused on the execution of healthcare transactions.
He has worked on a range of cross-border M&A transactions including company and asset sales, as well as initial public offerings and secondary fundraisings.
Prior to joining Piper Sandler in 2006, Dr. Smethurst completed his Ph.D.
in oncology at the University of Manchester’s Paterson Institute for Cancer Research, conducting microarray analysis of embryonic stem cell differentiation.
Prior to his Ph.D., he was involved in postgraduate research in cell division, positron emission tomography and breast cancer.
He also holds a master’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Oxford where he held an academic scholarship.
