Hanson Ltd. supplies and distributes building materials to the construction industry. It produce aggregates, ready-mixed and precast concrete, asphalt, cement and cement-related materials, bricks and a range of building products. The firm is split into five business lines which include Hanson aggregates, Hanson concrete, Hanson asphalt and contracting, Hanson cement and Hanson building products. Hanson aggregates produces and distributes crushed rock, sand and gravel from a network of quarries, depots and wharves; Hanson concrete is the supplier of ready-mixed concrete; Hanson asphalt and contracting brings together management of asphalt production sites and a national road surfacing and infrastructure contracting business; Hanson cement is a manufacturer of Portland cement, both in bulk and in bags, and produces regen; and Hanson building products is one of the producers of clay bricks and also makes thermalite and aggregate blocks. The company was founded by James Edward Hanson and Gordon White in 1964 and is headquartered in Maidenhead, the United Kingdom.
