Piltel is 92.5 percent-owned by Smart as at December 31, 2008. Smart is wholly owned and controlled by PLDT, and PLDT is the ultimate parent company. Piltel's subsidiaries are the following: Telecommunications Service Provider, Inc. (Telserv), Piltel International Holdings Corp. (PIHC), and Piltel (Cayman) Ltd. Telserv, which was incorporated and registered on October 1, 1992, was the exclusive provider of operator services for the paging business.
