Michael Hughes

Mr. Michael Hughes is a Head of Business Development & Product Management at Argos Investment Managers SA. He was previously responsible for the product management and business development of JPMorgan Asset Management’s European Equity business and for the successful marketing of their “behavioural finance process” in Europe.
During his four-year tenure in the JPMorgan European Equity team, it raised a total of $23 billion of net new assets under management, to achieve a total of $72 billion AUM.
He has over fourteen years’ experience of fund and product management including ten years at JPMorgan/Fleming Asset Management and four at Morgan Grenfell Asset Management.
At JPMorgan, he started out managing Latin American funds before switching to be product manager of the Emerging markets group and then switching to the same role with the European Equity team four years ago.
At Morgan Grenfell, he was also responsible for Latin American and Emerging Market Fund management.
Prior to this, he spent six years as a corporate financier in a leading UK merchant bank of the time, Hill Samuel.
Mr. Hughes has a degree in French and Spanish from the University of Bristol and holds the City Financial Diploma and UK Investment Management Certificate.
