Part of Borealis AG, Borealis Financial Services NV is a leading provider of innovative solutions in the fields of polyolefins, base chemicals, and fertilizers. The company, founded in 1994, is based in Mechelen, Belgium, and currently has around 6,800 employees operating in over 120 countries. Borealis generated EUR 8.3 billion in sales revenue and a net profit of EUR 906 million in 2018. In addition to being an innovative leader in polyolefins recycling, Borealis is also a major producer of base chemicals. In 2022, the Belgian company generated a net profit of EUR 2.1 billion. In July 2023, Borealis AG completed the sale of its nitrogen business, including fertilizer, melamine, and technical nitrogen products, to Agrofert, a.s. for an enterprise value of EUR 810 million.
