Norma Schroder

Norma Schroder is a research director in Gartner Dataquest, where she covers security product markets and security industry business issues for Gartner's vendor community, as well as for Gartner's Wall Street investor community.
Her topics span product markets including anti-virus, content filtering, firewalls/intrusion detection, VPN, encryption, security monitoring, AAA/identity, PKI, vulnerability assessment and remediation.
Ms. Schroder has more than 15 years of experience providing market research to the IT industry.
Ms. Schroder first joined Gartner in 1998, providing market research to vendors in the database, data warehousing, network & systems management spaces through the years.
Prior to joining Gartner, Ms. Schroder was at Andersen Consulting, where she provided thought leadership and research for business development to the Electronics and High-Tech division, especially in the areas of customer relationship management (CRM) and e-business.
She was a longtime market research consultant with a practice in multimedia applications, systems and networks.
She has also held marketing and research roles at N.E.T., ROLM, Infocorp, and Software Publishing's client/server group.
Before her corporate experience, she was an analyst in the public sector designing, analyzing and interpreting large surveys for population studies and mining financial data for antitrust litigation.
Ms. Schroder holds bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees in economics, summa cum laude, and an M.B.A.
certificate from the University of Miami, Florida.
She was also a doctorate candidate in economics at Stanford University.
