They were renamed DSP BlackRock Investment Managers Pvt. Ltd. in 2008 when BlackRock, Inc. (NYSE: BLK) bought out Merrill Lynch's stake. The firm changed their name to DSP Investment Managers Pvt. Ltd. in 2018 and DSP Asset Managers Pvt. Ltd. in 2023. DSP AM manages the DSP BlackRock mutual funds for individual and institutional investors. They also sub-advice offshore funds.

Headquartered in Mumbai, the firm was founded in 2002 as the asset manager of the UTI Mutual Fund and acts as manager and marketer to offshore funds through their wholly owned Guernsey-registered subsidiary, UTI International Ltd.
