Before joining Bombardier, he was employed by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York, where he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1991 to 1995 and President of Metro-North Commuter Railroad from 1983 to 1991.
Mr. Stangl joined the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in 1980 as Assistant Executive Director for Service Policy and Operations.
