Peter J. Bassett

Mr. Peter J.
Bassett is a Research Analyst at Westhouse Securities Ltd.
He covers the energy and emerging market sectors.
He joined Hanson Westhouse in January 2007.
Mr. Bassett began his career in 1977 as an energy economist and corporate planner at BP before joining Panmure Gordon as an oil analyst in 1981.
In 1983 he founded Lepco plc (now Sterling Energy plc) and acted as its Chairman until 2001.
In addition to his role with Lepco plc Peter spent ten years with Touche Remnant as an oil Fund Manager and latterly a Far Eastern Fund Manager.
In 1993 he left Touche Remnant to become Head of Emerging Markets at Henderson.
Between 2000 and 2006 he was an independent consultant including a year as Edison Investment Research’s oil analyst.
He holds a Masters degree in Geography from Cambridge University
