Girls On The Run International is a non-profit organization based in Charlotte, NC that offers a physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. The program's evidence-based curriculum focuses on developing competence, confidence, connection, character, caring, and contribution in young girls through lessons that incorporate running and other physical activities. The program has served over 2 million girls since its inception in 1996 and has councils in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. An independent study found that 97% of participants learned critical life skills that they continue to use at home, at school, and with their friends. Girls On The Run also offers Heart & Sole, an after-school program for girls in 6th-8th grade.
