Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings Public Ltd. develops, constructs, and markets commercial infrastructure. It operates through the Residential & Commercial Zone; and Thilawa Special Economic Zone business segments. The Residential & Commercial Zone segment develops the residential and commercial zone in Thilawa SEZ through its subsidiary. The Thilawa Special Economic Zone segment comprises of properties south of Yangon between the Thanlyin and Kyauktan Townships. The company was founded by Myint Zaw on May 3, 2013 and is headquartered in Yangon, Myanmar.

Myanmar Japan Thilawa Development Ltd. is the operator and developer of Thilawa Special Economic Zone, which is the first SEZ in Myanmar and a monumental project strongly supported by the governments of Myanmar and Japan. The joint venture company is based in Yangon, Myanmar. The zone is where large scale and advanced manufacturing can be carried out with a lot of support from the government and advantages in taxes. MJTD started construction in Zone-B on February 2017 and is expanding more.
