Alan Richard Graas

Mr. Alan R.
Graas is a Principal at SAM Advisors LLC (California).
After receiving his undergraduate degree from California State University, Fullerton in 1970, he entered military service, becoming a test pilot.
After military service, he worked on a graduate degree at Fresno State University, while employed as a police officer with the City of Fresno.
After finishing his education and leaving the law enforcement field, he worked for five years in the retail brokerage business.
In 1983, Mr. Graas started his first fee-based, U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission investment management company called Graas and Associates, Inc. Operating for ten years, Regency Bancorp purchased this company in 1993.
He remained as President of the bank's money management subsidiary, which grew by over 400% during the next six years.
He left Regency in September 1999 to form his own company when another bank acquired Regency.
For nine years, he served as a board member on the combined City of Fresno Police, Fire and General Services Retirement Boards, with nearly $2 billion in assets.
Mr. Graas served four years as Chairman of the Board of the Peace Officer's Chaplaincy of Fresno County, which provides chaplain services for the Fresno Police Department and the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.
He also sits on several domestic and international not-for-profit boards.
Mr. Graas received his undergraduate degree from California State University-Fullerton.
