Roman is currently the Chairman of Angara Center For Law & Economics.
She is also an Independent Director at PXP Energy Corp., a Director at Redondo Peninsula Energy, Inc., and a Director at One Meralco Foundation.
Additionally, she serves as a Trustee at Naga College Foundation and Akademyang Filipino.
In her former positions, Dr. Roman served as the Chairman-Trustees at the International Rice Research Institute.
She was also the Chairman of U.P.
Provident Fund, Inc. and Friends of The University of The Philippines Foundation In Ame.
Furthermore, she held the role of Independent Director at Digital Telecommunications Philippines, Inc. and Smart Communications, Inc. From 2005 to 2011, she served as the President of the University of the Philippines.
During the same period, she was also the Secretary-Regents Board & Vice President at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Additionally, she held the position of President at Up Foundation, Inc. and Nec Foundation, Inc. She is currently a Professor Emeritus at Cesar E.A.
Virata School of Business.
Dr. Roman completed her Master's in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines Diliman in 1989.
She also holds a graduate degree from the same institution, which was conferred in 1977.
She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of the Philippines Los Baños in 1972.
