George David Phelps Hamar

Mr. George David P.
Hamar is a Managing Director at Chilton Trust Co. LLC.
With over 25 years of wealth advisory experience, he has extensive experience in all aspects wealth management and planning.
His entire career has been focused on planning and wealth management for ultra high net worth individuals and their related entities.
His investment management related experience has included all aspects of traditional and alternative investment portfolio construction and supervision and related relationship management for ultra high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations.
His wealth advisory activities have included, in addition to co-chairing Silvercrest’s Family Office Services Group, all aspects of tax compliance and planning, financial and philanthropic planning and family office services, IRS audits and appeals and U.S.
Tax Court and Federal District Court litigation.
Prior to joining Chilton, Mr. Hamar was a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager and co-chairman of Family Office Services at Silvercrest Asset Management Group LLC.
Prior to Heritage Financial Management, LLC’s merger with Silvercrest in 2005, was a Managing Director, Portfolio Manager and Head of the Family Office Tax Group at Heritage.
He previously founded and served as President of Hamar Capital, Limited, a tax and financial advisory firm, which merged with Heritage Financial Management in 2001.
He began his career with Price Waterhouse and Dewey Ballantine.
Mr. Hamar is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and Old Dominion University.
He is a CPA.
