Mr. Ian D.
Newton is a Portfolio Manager at Platinum Capital Management Ltd.
Mr. Newton was previously employed as a Portfolio Manager at James Caird Asset Management.
He also joined Cheyne in February 2005 as a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Cheyne Special Situations Fund.
From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Newton co-headed the strategic trading desk at Bank of America specialising in event driven situations.
Prior to joining Bank of America, from 1998 to 2000, he was a Director for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson's equity proprietary trading desk in London where he was responsible for the event driven portfolio.
Mr. Newton started his career at Paribas where was a member of the Special Situations Desk for five years, specialising in event driven strategies on a proprietary basis for the bank.
He has a Master of Philosophy in Management from Queens' College, Cambridge, as well as an Honours Degree in Economics from Reading University.
