Johannes Schoeter

Mr. Schoeter is a Managing Director of Victoria Capital with many years of business experience in China, particularly in the areas of private equity investment, structured finance, corporate finance, and advising multinational corporations on their direct investment activities.
A pioneer among foreign bankers in China, Mr. Schoeter represented Deutsche Bank in Beijing from 1983 to 1987.
Mr. Schoeter has had extensive commercial and investment banking experience during his 20 years with Deutsche Bank.
His positions at Deutsche Bank included General Manager, Tokyo Branch, and General Manager, Greater China.
While at Deutsche bank he built an an excellent client base and played a leading role in various landmark business transactions.
He closely advised many leading multinational corporations on their investments in China, starting with an advisory role for Volkswagen AG when it negotiated and implemented the then largest joint venture in China in 1984.
Since 1995, Mr. Schoeter has led a number of highly successful private equity investment transactions and co-invested with investors such as Citicorp, Prudential Asia, AIG, and Warburg Pincus.
His represntative investment projects include food manufacturer Tingyi Noodles, industrial forestry product company Sino-Forest Corp., and tents and mobile furniture manufacturer North Pole.
Over the years, Mr. Schoeter has built up an extensive network of high level contacts in the international business and financial community.
He has a Master of Economics degree from the University of Augsburg, Germany.
