Michael Maras

Mr. Michael Maras is a Head of Global Credit Research at Merrill Lynch International.
He is also the Head of Global Credit, Commodities & Equity Derivatives Strategy and Head of EMEA Research.
He joined Merrill Lynch in 1996 as Head of European Equity Derivatives Research, and became Managing Director and Head of Global Equity Derivatives Research the following year.
In April 2002, Mr. Maras was appointed Head of the Equity Derivatives and Convertible Research teams as well as Global Equity Linked Research.
In April 2003, he became head of the newly merged Credit & Equity Linked Research group.
From May 2004 to January 2009, he was Head of Merrill Lynch Global Fixed Income & Equity Linked Research.
He has been in the financial services industry for over 28 years.
Before joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Maras was Global Head of Equity Derivatives Research at HSBC Securities.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He also earned a Master’s degree in International Banking and Economics from Cardiff Business School, University of Wales, and a Master’s degree in Econometrics from Southampton University.
