SSAB AB è specializzata nella produzione e distribuzione di acciaio speciale. Le vendite nette sono così suddivise per attività:
- lavorazione dell'acciaio (78,6%): lavorazione di lamiere in acciaio e alluminio per l'industria o l'edilizia (il Gruppo è il produttore leader di lamiere in acciaio in Scandinavia), produzione di acciaio laminato, lamiere metalliche e acciaio temprato utilizzati principalmente nelle attrezzature per l'edilizia e l'industria mineraria (produttore leader a livello mondiale) e produzione di componenti di sicurezza per l'industria automobilistica;
- commercio di prodotti in acciaio (12,8%): metalli, prodotti per l'edilizia, utensili, macchinari, ecc. Tibnor è la principale azienda svedese di commercio di acciaio;
- vendita di materiali da costruzione (5,3%; Ruukki Construction);
- altro (3,3%).
Le vendite nette sono distribuite geograficamente come segue: Svezia (13,9%), Finlandia (9,5%), Europa (34,6%), Stati Uniti (29,8%) e altro (12,2%).
