The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland
The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland Services to the Health IndustryHealth Services The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland is Cuyahoga County's largest direct emergency food distribution network with over 100 pantries and hot meal programs facilitated by hundreds of dedicated volunteers who are devoted to serving the deserving and truly needy families of their community. The Hunger Network helps stop hunger in its tracks by placing emergency food directly into the hands of those who need it most. Every month, the Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland provides food for 60,000 Cuyahoga County residents, nearly half of whom are children. In addition, they offer linkage services to dozens of vital services to improve the quality of life for those who need their care. The Hunger Network of Greater Cleveland pays for 95% of the food it distributes, purchasing the food from local food warehouses, like the Cleveland Food Bank, and food wholesalers. Generous contributions from caring individuals help them provide effective and efficient services in the fight against hunger. Every $1 raised provides four nutritionally-balanced meals for the families they serve, and their network of volunteers keeps their services running smoothly. | Director/Board Member | 11/05/2010 |
