Chip K. Vallis

During his investment career, Mr. Vallis has been known as one of the foremost experts on buying, developing and selling companies.
His experience in merchant banking, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions has proven his ability to create substantial value for both shareholders and investee companies.
His investment experience led him to the venture capital arena where his knowledge of corporate development, purchase and sale strategy, IPOs, restructuring and ongoing financing has given Mr. Vallis a venture capital skill set that is second to none.
Prior to joining Covington, in 1995, Mr. Vallis was a partner in Crosbie Armitage and Company, a thriving mergers and acquisition firm, that was sold to Merrill Lynch in June 1985.
Mr. Vallis remained with Merrill Lynch as Senior VP and Director of Mergers & Acquisitions until 1987 when he joined BT Bank of Canada as Managing Director, Merchant Banking.
He then served as Managing Director of Corporate Finance and Merchant Banking at Loewen Ondaatje McCutcheon Ltd.
In 1998, Mr. Vallis was appointed Governor of CI Mutual Funds, a $20 billion mutual fund company.
