Fred M. Alger

Mr. Alger began his career in 1958 as a Security Analyst with Wells Fargo Bank and North American Securities Company.
From 1961-1964, he served as a Portfolio Manager with Winfield & Company.
In October 1964, he founded Fred Alger Management, Inc. and served as Chief Executive until 1995 when he went into semi-retirement and his brother, David Alger, became Chief Executive.
In September 2001, he became President, Chairman of the Board and Chief Market Strategist.
Mr. Alger has served as a Director, Board Member or Trustee of several companies and foundations including Rite Aid Corporation, Museum of Modern Art, The French-American Foundation, and The American University of Paris Foundation, The American Center for Students and Artists and The NY State Council on Economic Education.
He currently serves as Chairman of the Board and President of Alger Associates, Inc. and several of its subsidiaries including Fred Alger Management, Inc., Fred Alger & Company, Incorporated, Alger Properties, Inc., Fred Alger International Advisory S.A.
and Alger Shareholder Services, Inc. as well as The Alger Fund, The Alger Institutional Fund, The Alger American Fund, Spectra Fund and Castle Convertible Fund.
Mr. Alger also serves as Chairman of the Boards of Alger SICAV and Analysts Resources, Inc. Mr. Alger also served in the U.S.
Marine Corps.
