He also served as Chairman of the National Board of Revenue, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Bangladesh, Member-Shariah Board of Shahjalal Islami Bank Plc, Member-Shariah Council of Fareast Islami Life Insurance Co., Ltd., and Member-Shariah Board of Islami Insurance Bangladesh Ltd.
Additionally, he was the Secretary-Banking Division of the Bangladesh Ministry of Finance and Secretary of the Bangladesh Ministry of Social Welfare.
Mr. Abdul Hannan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Dhaka in 1961.
