Robert Rowland

Mr. Robert Rowland is a Chief Executive Officer at Rowland Asset Management KK and a Head of Research at Custom Products.
Mr. Rowland was previously employed as a Research Analyst by FIL Investments (Japan) Ltd.
He has over 24 years of investment industry experience, including 4 years as an analyst on the sell side and 18 years at Fidelity Investments Japan.
During his time at Fidelity, Mr. Rowland was an active Portfolio Manager for 12 years and Japan representative to the Global Asset Allocation Committee for 5 years.
He has covered over 40% of the Japan market as an analyst; autos, technology, precision machinery, services, transportation and trading companies.
He also has extensive experience in Asia covering autos, technology, banking and conglomerates.
A graduate of Waseda University (MA Business) and McGill University (BA Economics), Mr. Rowland intends to continue with his iconoclastic quant driven approach in assessing stocks, market opportunities and refining smart beta portfolios among other things.

Mr. Rowland received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business & Economics from McGill University and a Master of Arts degree from Waseda University in Tokyo.
