They primarily rely on asset valuations provided by custodians and Independent Managers, which they believe to be reliable and accurate, without valuing the assets independently.

Bristlecone creates a portfolio that seeks the right balance of risk and return on an after-tax and after-fee basis. They carefully construct all client portfolios using a rigorous, team-based approach. Portfolios are customized based on each client’s investment objective, utilizing the optimum blend of asset classes including equities across domestic, international, large mid, and small-cap stocks; taxable and tax-exempt fixed income; plus additional asset classes such as REITS, MLPs, and alternative funds (both liquid and ill-liquid alternatives). The firm blends a top-down, macroeconomic review with bottom-up, fundamental research.
