Dan brings extensive operating and early stage investing experience in the consumer space.
A 17 year career at Nordstrom Inc included leadership of Menswear and Footwear divisions, along with IT, IR and Credit while serving as Co-President.
Subsequently, Dan founded Nordstrom.com and led its spin-out in 1999, bringing in Bill Gurley and Benchmark Capital as lead investors.
In 2003 he purchased Outdoor Research, taking it from insolvency to an industry leadership position, growing 5x over the next decade.
Early stage investments and board roles in Evo.com and Nuun in 2007 led to a growing appreciation for both the rewards and challenges of working with young founders and leadership teams.
Over the course of the last 15 years, Dan has invested extensively and assumed numerous Board Director positions, playing a key mentorship and coaching role with founding CEOs.
Dan holds both an undergraduate degree in Economics and an MBA from the University of Washington.
