Mr. James N.
Nelson is Deputy CIO & Portfolio Manager at Herndon Capital Management LLC.
He is also one of the portfolio managers responsible for managing our Large Cap US Core Equity product.
Prior to joining Herndon Capital Management in 2011, Mr. Nelson was a Partner at McHugh Associates Inc. While at McHugh from 1999 through 2009, he co-managed a large cap equity strategy, which had more than $1.5 billion in assets under management at its peak at year end 2004.
During his time at McHugh, he was also a Senior Equity Analyst analyzing stocks in the Consumer, Financial, Health Care, Industrials, and IT sectors.
Prior to McHugh, he performed investment analysis at Cooke & Bieler, and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
Mr. Nelson has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The College of Arts & Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.
He is a member of the CFA Institute and the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.
