Jan Cobbenhagen is general manager of the Universiteit Maastricht Holding Ltd., the University's holding company for spin-off businesses) and managing director of the BioPartner Center Maastricht (Life Sciences Incubator).
In his capacity of endowed professor he runs the Centre for Entrepreneurship of UM.
Jan Cobbenhagen was previously employed as programme manager for innovation policy and management at UM’s research institute MERIT (Maastricht Economic Research Institute on Innovation and Technology).
He has been Maître de Conférences at the University of Liège and Visiting Professor at the Carlos III University in Madrid.
Jan Cobbenhagen studied business economics and quantitative economics at Universiteit Maastricht; before that he studied hotel management at the Maastricht Hotel Management School.
In 1999 he wrote a dissertation on innovation management in SME.
