Thomas is Vice Chairman & Managing Director at Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management and Chief Investment Officer at Atlantic Trust Group, Inc. Prior to joining Atlantic Trust in 1986, Mr. Thomas held senior positions at Scudder, Stevens & Clark, and New England Merchants Bank.
He began his career as an Investment Officer at The Northern Trust Company.
He is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society, a past member of the Bank Analysts Association of Boston, and President of the Boston Media Analysts Group.
Mr. Thomas has served as Trustee and Chairman of the Finance Committee of Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and is currently a Director of the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Charitable Trust.
He was also a Board member for The Winsor School and is a member of the Board of the Handel and Haydn Society.
Mr. Thomas graduated from Miami University, earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
