Jerry Thomas

Mr. Thomas was a Partner at the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP from 1979 through 2007, where he concentrated on general corporate, securities and banking law matters and was in charge of managing the firms’ relationship with JP Morgan Chase.
At Simpson Thacher, he represented JP Morgan Chase on a regular basis in its corporate activities and as issuer's counsel for its securities issuances.
He also represented major underwriters in connection with public offerings and Rule 144A/Reg S offerings of debt and equity securities by investment grade and high yield issuers in a variety of industries.
He joined Simpson Thacher in 1972 and became a partner in 1979.
He was a long-time member of the firm's Executive Committee and was an Administrative Partner from 1992 to 1995.
He served as Legal Counsel to The Metropolitan Golf Association since 1983.
He is a Trustee of The Chapin School in New York City.
Mr. Thomas received his BA with distinction from the University of Virginia in 1968, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received his JD from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1972.
