Mr. Michael J.
Rothmeier is a President & Chief Executive Officer at Great Northern Asset Management, Inc. Before joining Great Northern Capital Mr. Rothmeier was President of MJR Enterprises, a business strategy consulting firm he founded in 1999.
Mr. Rothmeier began his investment management career twenty-six years ago when he joined IDS American Express.
He served as Vice President, Client Acquisition and ultimately was named Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer and elected to the IDS Board of Directors.
In 1989 he moved to Fidelity Investments.
Mr. Rothmeier was named Executive Vice President, Investment Services Group and President, Shawmut Investment Advisers at Shawmut National Corporation in 1992, responsible for Shawmut’s Private Bank, Personal Trust and Investment Management Businesses.
He also served as a member of the Senior Policy Committee.
After Shawmut and Fleet Financial Group completed a strategic merger in 1995, Mr. Rothmeier was named Managing Director, Fleet Investment Advisors, with line management responsibility for the Fleet investment business with $48 billion of assets under management.
Mr. Rothmeier is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received a master’s degree in management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
