Renee Marcia Chandran

Ms. Renee Marcia Chandran, Senior Investment Manager, joined MAVCAP in March 2002, bringing to the company more than ten years of business development and venture capital experience.
A snapshot of her experience at MAVCAP: more than six years of solid VC experience investing in a total of ten companies where she has developed strong competency in financial, technical and business due diligence, market research, creating and supporting "a point of view" on companies and monitoring of portfolio companies.
More importantly, she has the ability to analyze a wide variety of businesses in various industries and form an independent investment judgment.
At MAVCAP, she focuses on companies with good track record looking to grow their business exponentially with the funding received.
Her strong points of value add to her portfolio companies is her strong business acumen, propose the right business strategies for the investee company and her excellent networks of people that she knows in the industry to connect 'the right people to the right business'.
Prior to joining MAVCAP, she joined SIRIM Berhad, an acknowledged leader in standards and quality, research and development services and advanced manufacturing services.
At SIRIM, she was a Senior Executive in the Business Development Section, Corporate and Business Development Division.
Her experience was to identify, research and asses the potentials of new business projects for business expansion and diversification and propose strategies for new business growth areas.
This involved the review of numerous project proposals, prepare an assessment of the project for senior management evaluation, in charge of new project implementations and preparation of business plans for the various divisions/group.
In recognition of her outstanding contribution to her work, she was awarded the prestigious Excellent Service Awards by SIRIM in October 2001.
